Australian IT - Microsoft warding off Mydoom (Allison Linn, FEBRUARY 02, 2004) MyDoom - MyGone?Well, it looks as if another virus is going down the tubes. The second installment of the MyDoom virus (MyDoom.b) is not gaining much speed. Brian Czary of MessgeLabs (which scans emails for viruses) says "It could be the fact that people are already on guard," he said. "People already have defenses in place for MyDoom.A. ... and in doing so effectively are protecting against MyDoom.B." And, along with Microsofts 1/4 million dollar bounty, it's getting a bit more difficult to just send out a virus these days without major penalty. But, will it continue, sure it will! For every good, there must be a bad...and viruses definitely keep getting worse. But, at least there are now protections to stop it before these little bugs become a networking catastrophe! |
