Submitting Your New Website to a Search Engine Locally
Google Local Listing for "Internet Marketing Naples Florida"
Ok, so you have a new site. Now what? Well, it's time to tell the world about it. Instead of waiting for the search engines to find you, why not let them know yourself? One way to start the process is by adding your website through their local system. Not only will it index your site quicker, but it will added to the local results of that search engine. For example, imagine if you were looking for a pizza business in Naples, Florida. Google now shows you their search engine results and where these businesses are locally. However, the only way these companies can show up locally (with accuracy) is by submitting your business through Google Local. If you haven't done this, I suggest you do it. It's free, gets your website listed quicker, and shows up locally for the area. Below are the three main search engines you should submit locally to. They are:
Google Local

After filling out the information, you will receive a card in the mail from them. It will have a verification number that you need to add in. This postcard can take a few weeks to get to you. Make sure that your address and phone number are accurate. Once this is done, you're listed!
Yahoo

After filling the information out, it will be pending for review. According to Yahoo!, "It is standard for a listing to remain in Review Pending status for up to 5 business days from submission."
MSN (Microsoft)

You will need to check your listing first to see if it's in their database. If not in their database, you will need to fill out your information. Once completed, you will receive a postcard in the mail & need to verify.
